Inventech Marine Solutions (IMS) was founded with the goal of becoming the forward most thinking company in the marine industry. Our culture builds on the ideas of looking forward to better all aspects of marine used products. We believe in designing, testing, and perfecting new technologies that focus on safety, usability, and versatility to all users. These technologies are made available through our two brands Life Proof Boats and FAST.
Boats Built for Life
Life Proof Boats are built for anything life can throw at you. Our boats incorporate the newest technologies that we have developed and have--or in the process of acquiring--patents on. All of our boats are built with buoyancy collars for stability & redundant flotation, self-bailing decks, shock mitigated technologies, commercial built construction, and commercial grade materials. These characteristics make our boats stand out from the competition.
We want to provide the recreational boater with the safest platform available using the same technologies the USCG often requires for their platforms. At our Bremerton, WA facility, we have the ability to produce boats ranging from 15ft to 50ft in size.
Commercial Grade Materials
Because our boats are used in the toughest of environments, they are built stronger. That is why we only use 5086 H32 Grade Aluminum plate in our boats. A lot of builders use 5052 because it can cost up to 20% less. But 5086 is much stronger and more durable. Even our custom IMS lifting strake extrusions are made from 5086 Aluminum.
When building boats for the Navy and other government agencies they require 5086 below the waterline because of its better properties
Built to A High Standard
Before starting a new design we work through principles in naval architecture to ensure all our vessels have the correct structural design, proper LCG & VCG & TCG locations, and proper waterline.
We also ensure all structural members follow basic principles of engineering design.
A Virtually Unsinkable Boat
Safety is paramount to what we do, and we incorporate as much as possible into our boats to ensure you stay floating if you take on a wave or breach the hull. Some features we incorporate into every boat include our collar system, self-bailing decks, and foam placed inside the hull.
On every Life Proof Boat is a collar system which alone makes the boat virtually unsinkable. The collar runs the entire length of the boat and works to stabilize the boat the very moment it comes into contact with the water. It's like a life jacket for your boat.
Our self-bailing decks are passive and work purely through gravity. With our design, a deck completely filled with water will clear in under two minutes.
We fill every void in the hull with FR bags filled with the same foam used in our collars to further increase flotation in the event of a hull breach. In fact there is so much flotation, that our small platforms contain enough displacement to float twice the weight of the boat.
FAST stands for Foam Air Stabilized Technologies, and our collars are revolutionizing the industry. We offer collar systems in 100% foam, 100% air, and hybrid collars in any foam/air ratio depending on your application and preference. Mated with our patented collar attachment and installation systems, setup, removal, or repair of the collars are smooth and easy.
The FAST collars brand was established in 2015 as a state-of-the-art collar manufacturing facility to provide products for both LIFE PROOF BOATS, outside boat builders, and even one-off retrofits for RIBS with worn tubes.
TPU / PVC
Our primary collar material is a 40oz TPU with specs that meet or exceed all other like materials available today. The same is true with our more budget-conscious PVC options, which we source from Germany.
Unlike a traditional RIB, the outer layer of our tubes are not designed to hold air--rather they are designed to protect the air-holding internal bladders from abrasion and UV damage.
The foam we use is no typical foam. The EPE (expanded polyethylene) foam provides over 60lbs of flotation per cubic foot. It is extremely lightweight, absorbs virtually no water, is resistant to chemical and fuel exposure, resists impacts and has excellent shape memory.
From start-to-finish, we use the most effective methods to produce our products. Our powerful CAD software is used to generate the collar geometry and flatten it to generate a pattern. Then, utilizing our computer-controlled foam cutter and 60ft fabric cutting table, we can bring our computer-designed models to life with incredible precision. Lastly, all these parts are assembled by our highly skilled collar fabrication team using hot-air welders and RF welders.
We leave nothing to chance and do everything we can to ensure that we are producing the best possibly product for the best value.
Our team holds themselves to the highest level of character in everything we do. Our motives, thoughts, and communications, relate to morality, particularly as it concerns to integrity. Below is a verse from the Bible in which we hold dearly.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
Our leadership team has pioneered foam-stabilized watercraft over the past 30 years and have worked closely with customers from the US military, commercial sector, first responders, foreign governments, and recreational markets. Included in our leadership team are members who have also founded other successful boat manufacturing companies that continue to distribute boats world wide.
Our team members can also lay claim to the patented invention of foam stabilized buoyancy collars, the manufacturing of foam stabilized buoyancy collars, and advanced stepped tunnel hull technologies.
